About Cutting Edge Services

Who We Are

Cutting Edge Services is a family-owned property maintenance company providing year-round lawn care, landscaping, and snow services to residential and commercial clients throughout Niagara County and Erie County, NY. We’ve built our reputation on three simple principles: show up when we say we will, communicate clearly, and do the job right.

We're a local team — born, raised, and working right here in Western New York.

When you call Cutting Edge, you're talking to the people who will actually be on your property doing the work.

That matters because property maintenance is about trust. It's about knowing that when a storm hits at 3 AM, someone is going to show up and clear your lot before your employees arrive. It's about knowing that when you schedule a spring cleanup, it happens as planned. It's about working with people who take pride in doing the job well.

Our Story

Steven DiBartolomeo started Cutting Edge Services in March 2023, but his roots in this industry go back nearly a decade. Starting in 2015, he worked seasonally in landscaping and grounds maintenance for the Town of Wheatfield Parks & Recreation. That meant mowing athletic fields, maintaining public spaces, trimming, edging, and keeping community areas looking their best for residents.

It was seasonal work, but it was work he genuinely loved. There’s something satisfying about outdoor work — the visible results at the end of each day, the pride of maintaining a property to a high standard, the simple reality of doing something tangible and useful. Over time, that satisfaction turned into something more: a desire to do this work year-round and build something of his own.

Starting Cutting Edge was about having control over quality. It meant being able to do things the right way — even when it takes longer, even when it costs more, even when it would be easier to cut a corner that no one would notice.

It also meant building real relationships with customers. At Cutting Edge, you know who you’re working with. You have a direct line to the people who actually care about your property.

Sam has been part of the team since day one, playing a major role in building the business operationally. Together, they’ve created something they’re both proud of: a company with a reputation for showing up, communicating clearly, and delivering consistent results — season after season, year after year.

What We Believe

Dependability is the foundation. We build our schedule to be realistic, not optimistic. We don’t take on more work than we can handle well. When we say we’ll be there, we’re there. And when something unexpected comes up — because it always does — we communicate immediately.

Communication builds trust. From the very first estimate to the final walkthrough, you’ll know exactly what to expect. We explain the scope of work clearly before we start. We confirm pricing upfront so there are no surprises on the invoice. We keep you informed during the job if anything changes or if we notice something you should know about. And we follow up afterward to make sure you’re satisfied.

This kind of communication takes effort. It’s easier to just show up, do the work, and send a bill. But we’ve found that customers appreciate knowing what’s happening with their property. They appreciate being treated like partners rather than just accounts. And it makes our jobs easier too — when everyone’s on the same page, there are fewer misunderstandings and better outcomes all around.

Details make the difference. We follow a consistent process on every job: proper prep before any work starts, tasks completed in the correct order for efficiency and quality, thorough cleanup before we leave. We don’t cut corners, and we don’t leave until the job is finished — really finished, not just mostly done.

What does ‘correct order’ mean? Here’s an example: when we’re doing a landscaping job that includes trimming and mulching, we always trim first. That way, any debris from trimming gets cleaned up as part of the mulching process, and you end up with cleaner beds and a more polished final result. It seems small, but these details compound. A hundred small decisions made correctly add up to work that looks noticeably better.

Why Clients Stay With Us

One thing we’re genuinely proud of is client retention. Many of our customers have been with us since the very beginning — since those first months in 2023 when we were just getting started. They come back season after season: spring cleanups, summer mowing, fall leaf removal, winter plowing. Year after year.

They stay because they trust us. They know we’ll show up. They know the work will be done right. They know they won’t have to chase us down for updates or worry about whether someone’s actually coming. That peace of mind is worth something — and we work hard to earn it every single time.

When we ask customers what they appreciate most, we hear the same things over and over: ‘You actually show up when you say you will.’ ‘You communicate before and during the job.’ ‘You leave the property clean and finished.’ These are the professional standards we hold ourselves to on every property.

What We Do

We provide comprehensive property maintenance for both residential and commercial clients throughout Niagara County and Erie County. Our services span all four seasons:

Lawn Care & Maintenance: Weekly mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing from May through October. We keep residential and commercial properties looking sharp all season with consistent, reliable service.

Landscaping: Mulch installation, shrub and hedge trimming, bed maintenance and cleanups, and plantings. Whether you need a one-time refresh or ongoing landscape care, we handle the details that add curb appeal and long-term value.

Seasonal Cleanups: Spring cleanups to clear winter debris and prep for the growing season. Fall cleanups to remove leaves, prepare beds, and winterize your property. These aren’t quick rake-and-go jobs — we do them thoroughly, with proper attention to beds, borders, and hard surfaces.

Snow & Ice Management: For residential clients, we offer seasonal driveway plowing contracts. For commercial clients, we provide full-service snow and ice management including plowing, sidewalk clearing, and salt application. We monitor storms, respond promptly, and document our work for your liability protection.
